The Charity ball of 2008

Last year’s charity ball was a huge success. Over two hundred students arrived to the Festetics Palace, the amazingly beautiful ball room located at Andrassy University. A student band from Pecs provided the entertainment, a movie about our project was shown on the big screen, and the party lasted until the early morning hours. One million forints was donated by the guests by means of a lottery, entrance fees, and simply good spirit. The charity ball of 2008 is scheduled for the end of February. Again, it will be the biggest event of the year and we are already looking forward to it!

The charity ball of 2007 was arranged by ANSA Hungary with the aim of informing students about our project. All Norwegian and foreign students from Budapest, Pecs, Debrecen and Szeged were invited and over two hundred guests filled the ballroom to make the party a success. Canapés and champagne were served in the beautiful ball rooms. Later in the evening, various drinks were sold in the bar with the help of four student volunteers working as bartenders for the night. The money from the bar also went to the project. A group of students from Pecs arrived together with the student band “Cheech and the Chongs,” who delivered a great performance on stage. Prior to the ball, a beautiful and touching movie about the project was displayed. The movie was created by some of our very dedicated students and included pictures and films from ANSA Hungary’s first trip to Transylvania. The movie was shown with English subtitles and a speech was held in English by the former president of ANSA. Donations were collected for the lottery prizes, which included free restaurant dinners and similar other gifts. Thirty prizes were won by students, including a free day in one of Budapest’s finest day-spas, dinner for two in an exclusive restaurant, and gifts from the city’s finest interior design shop. The lottery was a great success which will again be offered at next year’s charity ball. The after party was held at Avocado club and lasted until the early morning hours. With this prior success, we promise an even better event next year. The party plans are still in the making, but we can guarantee an even longer guest-list, amazing entertainment, and tempting prizes for the lottery!
